Sad Tree

Yesterday, my family and several neighbors watched the tree on the corner be stripped of all its dignity. My neighbor, God Love Her, decided the tree was too tall, so she had it topped. Now, I personally, have never heard of a tree that was too tall. OK, the ones that grow into power lines, maybe. My question there is WHY do they plant trees that will get tall UNDER THE POWER LINES??? Things that make you go humm. I am NOT a fan of topping trees. I know, it is not my tree, but it is a Maple, and was just at its prettiest point. Not to mention the shade it provided on a sunny day. I have a feeling sh will regret her decision to top the tree come summer when her house is in full sun all day. The whole front was shady, not it's not. Poor Tree. Here are photos of its demise. I wish I had gotten a photo BEFORE any cutting had begun. It was BEAUTIFUL. Now, it is a coat hanger. Ugly. Poor, sad tree. Here is a link as to WHY you should not do this to a tree, and another one.

PLEASE!! Don't do this to your trees. It is ugly and your neighbors will not like you for it.

Amen! It was in the prime of its beauty too. It killed me and several neighbors to watch it happen. Oh well, its not my tree. Hope my neighbor doesnt' read my blog. I really do like her.
